The Wound
- I fell.
- I was struck.
- I was pierced.
- I was taken.
Later iconography makes desire a trajectory that arrives before deliberation. The arrow is a metaphor for a change of orientation. After a strike, the field is no longer even.
The field is still. Then a trajectory crosses it.
What changes when attention has been struck?
This is one inherited grammar for an event that feels, to many, as if it did not begin as a choice.
