Psyche

Greek Eros is older than the Latin tale. Roman Cupid is a reception. In the second century, Apuleius of Madauros set an inset story inside a comic novel: a woman named Psyche, a lover who comes by night, a lamp, a flight, a set of tasks. That narrative has its own house.

Desire meets soul.

What happens next belongs to another story.

A single oil lamp burning in a dark doorway, the door slightly ajar.
VISUALIZATIONA lamp. A door. The tale beyond it has its own house.
